Wellingborough Orpheus Choir

Past Concerts...

New Singers Always Welcome

Our choir performs three or four concerts a year, singing mainly major choral works,
but also songs from the shows, madrigals, operetta and other light music.

2013 - our Diamond Jubilee

Our concert in October was an eclectic mix of music: sacred pieces in the first half, while the second included a tribute to Queen (the group not the monarch!), and theme tunes from James Bond films and TV programmes: Red Dwarf, Mr Bean and Black Adder.

In 2012 we also performed Mozart's Solemn Vespers in Niort

In 2011 our summer concert in Earls Barton Church included folk songs and medleys from West side Story and Les Miserables, which we sang again in St Mark’s, Wellingborough in the autumn, along with some sacred pieces including: If ye Love me (Tallis); Ave Verum Corpus (Mozart); and Bogoroditse Devo (Rachmaninov)

2009 - Sparkling Choral Favourites included spirituals, well known anthems, nursery rhymes and two classic songs from the 1930s: Over the Rainbow and The Continental.

 Haydn's Creation

Brahms Requiem Handel's Messiah 2008

2007 - the Choral Classics concert included: Vivaldi’s Gloria; choruses from the Requiems of Mozart, Brahms, Fauré, Verdi and Karl Jenkins; the Hallelujah Chorus; Zadok the Priest and O Fortuna from Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana.
